wifi no internet
WiFi Connected but No Internet
Check whether the failure looks device-specific, DNS-related, shared across devices, or limited to particular sites.
Diagnose This Problem ↓Measurements describe the endpoint and test shown. HTTP timing is not network-layer packet loss or a direct measurement of your router, WiFi radio or ISP.
Your guided check
Observe. Compare. Take the next step.
Connected to WiFi is only the first connection
Your device can join a wireless network even when a captive portal, device setting, router connection or upstream service prevents browsing. We cannot read your WiFi connection status directly; your answer supplies that context.
Compare another device on the same WiFi
If another device works at the same time, investigate the affected device or browser first. If all devices fail, a shared network problem becomes more plausible, but this does not identify a router or ISP fault.
Check a sign-in page before resetting anything
Guest networks may require a sign-in page. Use the operating system’s network sign-in prompt. Do not bypass certificate warnings or disable security software to reach it.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my phone work on mobile data?
It uses a different access network. That comparison implicates the original path, but cannot distinguish local DNS, router policy and ISP routing.
Can this tell me my router is broken?
No. Router health is not available to ordinary browser code.
