Why Does My Internet Keep Disconnecting?

Watch this browser’s requests for 60 seconds and see when interruptions are observed. Compare devices and Ethernet to narrow the likely area.

Start Dropout Test ↓

Measurements describe the endpoint and test shown. HTTP timing is not network-layer packet loss or a direct measurement of your router, WiFi radio or ISP.

Your guided check

60-second request timeline

The check contacts our endpoints and Cloudflare / Google public DNS services. They receive your IP and the public hostname being queried. Test privacy

An observed request gap is not a proven link dropout

The timeline records HTTP probes, browser online/offline events and sampling gaps. A timeout can also come from an endpoint or request path. Interruption durations are sampled estimates, not exact physical disconnection times.

Keep this tab in the foreground

Background throttling, sleep and long scheduling gaps invalidate timing. The run becomes inconclusive if this happens. Retest in an active tab; missing probes never count as lost packets.

Correlate without inventing a cause

When a probe fails, the check also attempts public DNS-over-HTTPS. Failures close in time are correlation only: that DNS request uses an HTTP path too. Ethernet and another-device comparisons help narrow the scope.

Frequently asked questions

What if the 60-second test looks normal?

Run it again while the problem is happening. A short observation cannot rule out drops that occur every few minutes.

Does Ethernet improvement prove interference?

It supports a WiFi-path explanation. Interference, distance, access-point load and device radio behavior remain unresolved.
